Default Pulp mill on the Edge of Town

I worked in a pulp mill for a summer as a teenager and have no fond memories. I mentioned the smell to a Hinton resident at the gas station one day. His response was "that is not the smell of the mill, that's the smell of wages".

I worked in consulting engineering for 49 years, mostly in pulp and paper mills. We called it the smell of steak.

A nice shot Chuck.
That pulp mill odor is quite common around BC.

Chuck, this one ticks lots of boxes for me. The arrangement of stacks, buildings, smoke and water vapour all see just right. Add to that you also have pleasing pastel colours. It's a winner, Chuck - a winner.

Once photography enters your bloodstream, it is like a disease.

Software: Too numerous to list but my most used utility is ShiftN for perspective correction

Gear: Canon G12, no tripod, no lenses, no flash, no remote, no cases or bags!

Thanks Martin. It's a grey day shot from a distance with a good crop but I think it captures the situation in a reasonable way.

Chuck
