Default First and Main

in Mirror, Alberta on a busy Saturday evening. Mirror was a small but busy railroad town where I lived until I was sixteen. It has slowly decreased in size and importance over the last 50 years until it is now a small hamlet with no school and only a couple of businesses. I passed through on my way back from a rodeo yesterday. I took this after driving past the house where I lived as a chiid.

An amazing sky in this image, Chuck. I appreciate the background info, too.

Several things are worth mentioning about this shot, Chuck. The repetitive lap posts on the left are effective. The fact that there are dark objects on the left and right of the picture stops the eye wandering away. The "letterbox" frame suits the subject very well.

Good sky too. I like it

Once photography enters your bloodstream, it is like a disease.

Software: Too numerous to list but my most used utility is ShiftN for perspective correction

Gear: Canon G12, no tripod, no lenses, no flash, no remote, no cases or bags!

I love this image, this small town feels it could have been taken in the fifties and b & W
really suits it.

Thank you, kind sir. This view has changed little since the fifties other than every think seems much smaller than they were then ... well I'm sure that is a result of my memories being formed as a child.
