Default A 9 image stitch

Here I am standing only 6m (19ft) from this massive fortified twin tower and I don't have a super WA. So I set the apertur to around 40mm (35mm equiv.) and banged off 9 bracketed shots. Yes, that's 27 exposures! All were processed with SNS-HDR 1.x beta and stitched with Microsoft ICE. I am liking ICE version 2 (64 bit) more and more. It's entirely automatic and very easy to use. What's more it's free!

There was perspective distortion in the output from ICE but the Photoshop 6 Perspective Control Tool put this right before a resize and save.

Huntingtower Castle is a fortified twin tower 15th century dwelling, perhaps I shoul post it in Architecture too.

Once photography enters your bloodstream, it is like a disease.

Software: Too numerous to list but my most used utility is ShiftN for perspective correction

Gear: Canon G12, no tripod, no lenses, no flash, no remote, no cases or bags!

Nice texture and details. Color is really nice too. I'm not sure PS got all the "distortion" handled. It seems like the top of the left side to front (tallest point of the Castle) is bulged out, or the bottom corner is pinched in...? That line seems to be "off" to me....

Nice image Martin, great detail in the stonework, you have got the perspective bob-on
which is"nt always easy.

I agree that the perspective is not perfect but as you can imagine, shooting from only 6m away, the distortion in the stitched image was considerable! Also the towers have been added to, joined and altered so many times, that there are bulges here and there.

It certainly is when you stand next to it!

Thanks for popping in and commenting so favourably, Alf.

ShiftN did handle this one well at all and I had to do it the hard way with Photoshop!
