Default GTCU #1974

Here is Mystery Object #1974. It will fit inside a bread box, but you may have to straighten out some parts afterward to use it for its intended purpose.

First clue:

Despite the first image's appearance, no bone was used in the mystery object, as far as I know. The mystery object can be used alone, but this object is one of a group constructed of similar materials but of different sizes and shapes.

Clue number two: A woman is more likely to buy and install one or more of these than a man is, but there is no particular reason a man can't.

Hello? Hello? Hello? Hello?

Requires no power, has no (intentionally) moving parts, and makes no noise, unless it falls to the floor or something like that.

Don't know the name but you

You mean like a sachet or potpourri? If so, no. This doesn't emit a noticeable odor either, nor is it intended to. Nevertheless, you aren't that far off.

Anti-insect thing but doesn't bother humans ?

Doesn't emit any chemicals that I know of. It isn't intended to do emit any, anyway. It isn't one of those ultrasonic thingies either, seeing as how the mystery object doesn't use any power.

Time for another image clue:

Hint: you may want to back away from the screen to get a better overall view of the image and make it look more familiar.

This one has elements of a fake plant, but isn't itself a fake plant. Take another look at the other visual clues and see if you can guess what such an object can be used for.

Come to think of it, a fake plant might stand in for some of the purposes that the mystery object can be used for, but probably not the purpose for which it is currently being used.
