Welcome to your new Mystery Object.

GTCU #1969

Does not fit in a bread box. No version fits.

Verrrry common item. Not a household item.

Fully functional and is shown in-use.

Exists in great variety, this is an older one.

Looks like decorative moulding on something, or possibly a decorative pole on a pole lamp. Not either, of course, because you have already eliminated household items. Or it could be a stairway railing or part of a wrought-iron fence. Not a whole lot here to restrict the guesses. Might even be an edge-on view of an automotive tire rim, sans tire.

No, not a tire nor related to tires.

Scoundrel has danced around the
solution, close dancing, too ! But
has not quite hit it.

As mentioned, you see the object
in-use. The colors change becuz it
has no color of its own, but it picks
up the colors around it. There is a
degree of connection between that
phenomenon and the purpose of
the Mystery Object.

Til Mnyahnnah ....

Keep in mind ... this is how it looks in-use,
and it looks this way due to the typical, or
usual, circumstances of its use.

Read that earlier post where Scoundrel
named a bunch of stuff and I said it was
all dancing very close to a solution, but
not hitting it directly. IOW, he had put a
good amount of pieces of the puzzle on
on the table but wasn't quite seeing the
fragments for what they really are ...
which acoarst is what GTCU is all about
... confusing you with fragments of the
Mystery Object

And again, keep in mind that everything
shown are results or effects of the MO's
working environment. Before it's put to
use, it's very "blah" and plain.

Nope. You were somewhat
closer in your earlier post.

The next image clue is right
below, and just may be the
"almost reveal". Depending
upon where one's intuition
leads, maybe the give-away
image clue.
