I don't have much experience with fixed lenses and would like to have your opinions, pros & cons etc. Any help would be much appreciated.

Default Re: Fixed or zoom lens

I shoot with both prime lenses and zoom lenses. For example, I have Fuji 16mm f/1.4, 23mm f/1.4, and 56mm f/1.2 prime lenses and I also have a Fuji 16-55mm f/2.8 zoom lens. I use the zoom when I do not have the time to change prime lenses or when I am shooting in a hostile environment (like a beach where I do not want to expose by sensor to blowing sand). I use the primes when I am shooting under low light conditions and need the light gathering of the faster prime lenses.

Please note, I did not use the term "fixed lens" because that usually refers to a lens that is permanently attached to a camera body.
