Default Caroline Swimsuit/Sunset

Just a few minutes before the sunset. C&C welcomed.

Great shot cgallo. Like the rim lighting provided by the sunset.

Very nice shot cgallo, what was your set up? What type of lighting did you use, if any?

Hi A2Z, I'm glad you asked. Here is everything you want to know about the shoot plus some other stuff you might not even care about.

I think the session began with planning. Before having the model show up I had already scouted the location and exact time of the shoot days before. I informed the model of where she could park, I asked her to bring quarters (for parking), and to bring a sweater or something to cover up because it was fresh out there.

Ok here is the technical stuff. The fastest shutter speed I could use was 200 since that's the maximum sync speed for the triggers I was using. I set my ISO to the lowest setting since I was going to be shooting the sun... so that was at ISO 100. After that all I had to do was dial in my aperture with ended up to be around f/11.

Here's a picture of how the photo looks without the speedlites firing next to a second photo where the speedlites did fire.

My main flash was set to full power since my aperture was somewhat closed. The fill flash was half the power. (No particular reason, that's just what worked for me.) Main was on my left, fill was to my right. I kept the umbrellas as close to her as possible to maximize the size of the light source.

Here's a diagram of the setup.

I forgot to mention, I used the water bottles to pour water on her to get the sand off her body.
