I'm gonna agree with Rain Lilly here - OMG .

I have a two whole series of girls with guns (Bond Girls and Arresting Officers) and, whether considered cliché or not, the models and I like them. I also think the DOF can show the model or the gun and each can be effective.

That said, the color version works better for me because of the makeup. I do think those are cropped a bit to tight but that's personal taste. The portrait is well done and would be terrific with better color balance.

As a side note, I usually have the model hold the weapon in safe position (finger off the trigger) until it is raised and aimed. At that point, in the ready position, the finger goes on the trigger and the eyes follow the sights.
