Default Silly question: Print Screen

Many time I wanted to post a pic of the screen. Got the pic, pasted it on Excel or Word. Then what? Is that the right way to go about it. If not, how do you save a "print screen" as a photo.

Thanks

Just hit print screen and then in PS hit ctrl N for a new canvas (which will default to the size of whatever is on the clipboard) and then ctrl V to paste it in. Flatten and save. Done.

Thanks, Lee.

Hope it works in PS Elements too (because that's all I have).

Cheers

Edit: It does work in PSE (4.0). Thanks again, Lee.

I don't know if the keyboard shortcuts are the same but it should basically work the same way.

New canvas > paste > save as ...

If you want to do it right, you'll save it as a .gif. It comes out a lot better. JPEG compression can mess up the fonts, requiring you to resharpen the image if you resize it.

Thanks Mr.P.

John, you are right, the one I tried (jpeg) was messed up, you can hardly read what's in it.

Cheers

That's all I do. Loads and saves faster than PS.
