Oh yea. Apple is very into esthetics. It would ruin the seamless front to have buttons and controls on it. The on/off has always been in the back I think on most of the machines.

Seems so.

One has to bend backwards to hook-up a USB device, for example. So I turned the big mama 1/3rd towards me.

Quick question:

In MBP a screen (e.g. browser) can go full screen. However, in Mac Pro the lower edge of the screen stops at the top of the dock. How to fix that, anybody know.

I think if you right click in the dock area, not on any particular icon. Maybe towards the right, where you have that split. You'll get a dialog box, and I think you'll probably see something about about making the dock disappear.

If that doesn't work, I'd check in settings or preferences.
