The only USB device I connect to Parallels is my GPS, and it connects via RS-232 at 9600bps (DB9-USB Keyspan adapter). So, it's difficult to notice the difference

Thanks again

You are right. There is no need for a pc vs mac thread. Mac lost that one 15 or 20 years ago. Can you say 95% t0 3%

Well looking at the site traffic stats here we average around 8% accessing via a Mac, so we probably buck the trend, but I agree - no need for a PC is better than Mac debate. One thing I will say though. I use lots of different OS's, Linux/Solaris for work, Windows for games and watching TV, and Mac for everything else. I tried Vista via bootcamp on my iMac, and was happy to get back to OSX. The eye candy was rotting my retinas .

This used to be true but it really isn't any more.

Having used for Macs and PCs my take is that they're both the same and both should be better than they are.

I've had top-of-the-line Macs since the Apple II ca. 1981-82. Many logical things about computing can't be used on the PC because Mac had them first (like the upper menu bar, for example, instead of that illogical "start" menu at the bottom of the screen, where no one naturally tends to look).

I also have PCs, because some high end venerable Astrology Aps only run on PCs. Don't enjoy using them, except for using those aps. And I have good high end CPIs.

Currently using a Mac Pro Quad 3G super computer, w 4G RAM (will eventually add more) and 4 internal drives (1 500GB and 3 750GB, 2 of them Raided) as well as my somewhat older Dual 2.5GB G5 Quicksilver, w 4.5G RAM (that RAM was cheaper), which I use for batch scanning with a second scanner.

I do prefer the better PC keyboards though, especially the IBMs....not for the layout, but for the feel. There are no great keyboards for the Mac, except for a SIIG, which has too dark a key-color for my eyes....I need white).

It really doesn't matter much anymore as far as usage is concerned. Aps for both computers do it, including the adobe Aps. But the upkeep and configuring is simply easier on the Mac. And, for me, it is more intuitive and logical in general.
