How much RAM is in the machine that you use to run PhotoShop CS6 or CC? I'm wondering whether 4 gigs is enough or how much RAM you can throw at it and still see some benefit. What's the cutoff point on RAM...the point after which you see no measurable benefit?

4GB is enough for CS5 but 8 would be better

Software: Too numerous to list but my most used utility is ShiftN for perspective correction

Short answer... as much as you can fit in your computer. Longer answer, depends on your computer, number of apps you run, and size of images you work with.
Optimize performance | Photoshop CS4, CS5, CS6
We use several apps and large sizes/quantities of images so we max out within reason. 16GB on Laptop... More on Desktop.

I have 16GB. Rarely use all the RAM on the machine, but I have maxed it out when working on a larger project.

I've found 4 GB to be not enough. I would too often get out of memory error messages running PhotoShop CS6 in Win7 with just four or five images open. Not good. Plus I've found that once Win7 issues that error message, the screen starts doing weird things (loses the Aero look, for example) and the whole computer becomes a bit unstable. With 8 gigs and the 64 bit version of Windows, I never get issues running CS6. I haven't tried more than 8 gigs and am not sure when or why I'd need to.

I have 16 Gb in my computer. Normally I run CS6 and LR5 together and both are quite ram hungry.
It is definitely faster with 16 Gb than it was when I had 8 Gb.

I have 16, but that's only because there's such thing as too much ram, and if your machine can handle it you should max it out. Same with hard drives, my laptop has two bays, they're both filled with a 1TB drive. Why? Because if you can do it, why not do it, there's no such thing as too much storage, especially for photographers.

With ram it's simple; the more ram you have the more breathing room you have to run stuff, and you never know how much crap is running in the background. If you have the ability to give yourself that breathing room then you should do it, it only helps and never hurts.

As much RAM as you can afford, and as your computer and OS will be able to manage. Photoshop is quite memory intensive and today's cameras have more and more megapixels.

My own Mac is running with 24 GB of RAM under OSX 10.8, happily running PS CC, Lightroom 5, and a bunch of other apps concurrently.

As everyone else has stated, there is pretty much never too much RAM.
