Have no particular question in mind, but overall, I think the new interface is kind of confusing. For example, I don't know where to find the new templates to use (very basic requirement).

Regardless, how about we discuss and share info about the new Smugmug. Looks very promising and exciting.

I have just about had it with them. Problems uploading, the webinar did NOT help me and now it is like learning a new software. Some of my pics vanished for a day and then they were back? I upgraded the LR plugin...TWICE. Then it uploads some of the pictures and now today it won't upload any. I am not happy with the new Smugmug.........for technical reasons. I just want things to work, and for me that is not happening and I am sick of messing with it. And then I can't look up my stats anymore. ??

I know your frustration, Duke. I couldn't do even more basic tasks than what you tried.

On the the positive side, it's natural to have issues when big changes are made. I would give them some time to iron things out.

Cheers

I like the additional ability to format my home page and navigation although it was a bit of a struggle to get my head around. It was annoying that once you started the customization process there was no way to abandon it and start over. This is also true if you decide to do a new customization. They also dropped the communities feature although they do say they are working to get it back in some way but for now when you leave legacy you lose it. Although they are very responsive to questions I can see this change causing significant difficulty for many people.

New SmugMug: How to Design & Customize Walkthrough

It's a webinar that supposed to explain the new Smugmug. Watched the first 15 minutes, got even more confused and closed it.

Have fun with it

Oh, and I rely on ACDSee to upload pics to my site. Now, that doesn't work.

I know it's an ACDSee issue, but still.

If you use ACDSee to upload to Smugmug please have a look at this link.

I left SmugMug some time ago for Photoshelter (and I have quite a bit of experience using Zenfolio as well), so I have no idea how easy or difficult the new interface is to use, but my buddy Scott recently threw this together using the new SmugMug:

If I recall correctly, he uses SmugMug to deliver the final product. He did say he thought the new interface was pretty quick to use once he got the hang of it.

Your buddy has a very cool site. Excellent work, too!

Noticed something in his work, that he is not afraid of using WA lenses and the distortion that comes with it. My kind guy

Please say hello to him.
