Default Windows 8 opinions

Anyone used Windows 8 yet. I did not try the beta this time around. Since I don't use touch screens, I don't see much sense in upgrading. Your thoughts?

if it ain't broke, dont fix it. Tried Windows 7 but see no need to upgrade as XP does all I want it to

Unless you want to run windows apps on a touch screen tablet computer, I believe that Win 7 is a better option.

I have tried iPad, Android and Balckberry (QNX OS) tablets.

I still prefer the user experience from my WIN 7 & MAC laptops and XP & Linux desktops. So I think I will stay put for now.

So now we have to watch out for finger prints on our digital photos.

Hey Wolf, we have 100% agreement on something.

I'm replying to this from an iPad, but these sorts of devices do not compete with the more traditional desktop/laptop operating systems. These "touch" devices are great for consuming information, but still just don't have it for actually processing information.

This pretty well sums up my Windows experience since 3.1 - http://www.globalnerdy.com/wordpress...d-and-shit.jpg

I'm staying with Windows 7. It is better than XP (especially when it comes to networking and sharing) and I don't really have any complaints about it.

Eero: lol

I rather despise the new look of the big desktop buttons which MS is implementing on all their products, even Hulu got the change. It has such a simpleton sort of feel to it that its almost insulting. I'm just weird that way though.

Incidentally, My neighbor is a medical student and bought a pad for school along with the other students. He said they're all whining about it now because they cant do what they need to with them. He went back to a laptop.
