Default Canon G7X

Anyone have one?, shot with one? and would like to comment

I am looking (still ) for a smaller camera so I don't have to drag my DSLR kit around

IQ is main concern

Cheers for any info

Rob

Sony is just about giving away Nex 7's ... under $500.

I realize you won't actually buy one, but other peeps
may be reading this thread. You have a 5D2 ... so do
I , and I could sell you it so that you could be twice as
fed up with it as we both are separately.

I have seen images form one, and they look pretty good for what the camera is. I think it's biggest "rival" would be the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 III. The Canon has a longer reach on the zoom, getting out to 100 with the Sony stopping at 70. But the Sony doesn't lose much else. The Sony does have an EVF which the Canon doesn't. The Sony has better video, if that is a concern. The Sony also gives about 50% more shots per battery cycle, which could be very important. The Sony has a bit better features, but only you would know if they are good deals for you. But, the Sony cost more too....

Mr. Pickles sums it up nice, if IQ is a main concern, then the 1" sensor won't let you down, both Sony (Zeiss) and Canon (Canon) know how to make a decent lens and put it on a decent camera with a good interface.

BTW: I held and played with a G7x, but I have not actually shot it, I own & like the G1x MkII w/ EVF, that EVF plus the 1.5" sensor giving decent DoF control are the deciding factors for *me*.

...€0.02...

Kindest regards,

doesn't the law of increasing marginal returns apply here ? 2 5D2's make you three times as fed up ?
