Default C & C ring shot

I wasn't sure about the direct reflection on the gem's face, but I thought having it cover half was my best option. I know there are a few blemishes on the ring, but this was first intended for Ebay so I ethically couldn't remove them.

I'm looking to expand my commercial work into product photography, so C & C on this would be much appreciated.

Very nice. How'd you get it to stand like that?

Thanks. I used a piece of wax.

I think if you can hit the gem with a small focused light you might be able to get a nice sparkle in it rather than the white of your diffused light.

I've heard that people sometimes use LED lights to focus a beam inside a gem. I use strobes to shoot, do you know what my options are to achieve a similar effect?

Thanks for the feedback.

I was interested in this a few years ago, but don't remember the site I saw selling a set up for it. I think if you google table top photography you can find it though - the special light had the word "sparkle" in it I think. I'll see if I can find it and if so I'll edit and put the link in here.

Not hard to find at all! Here it is: http://www.tabletopstudio.com/docume...hy.htm#sparkle

my pleasure - it's the least I could do after the laugh you gave me with your signature.

Looking forward to your next jewelry shots...
