Wireless Trigger

Anyone tried these from e-bay? They sound pretty nice and are only $25, but 1000 shots on a battery doesn't sound like a lot.

Never used that one. I have this one and it works just fine.
Remote Shutter release for Canon DSLR EOS 20D 30D 40D - eBay (item 170286655981 end time Dec-12-08 10:10:38 PST)

The one thing I did for it was to add a $0.50 replacement flash foot (no contacts) to the bottom of the receiver so it can sit in the hotshoe instead of dangling.

Thanks. How long is the cord that plugs into the camera? And can it be used as a wired remote as well as wireless? On the one I linked, there is an 18" cord and you can fire the camera as if it were a wired trigger with a button on the receiver itself.

Steve, are you sure that was 1000 shots, and not 1000 hours?
This one shows 1000 hours.
It's a little more than that eBay trigger you show, but not by a lot.

Edit: While I can't guarantee that you can shoot from the receiver, it sure looks like it.

This is from the ebay ad:
-With a new battery, the receiver standby time is about 100 hours.
-With a new battery, the remote control can trigger about 1,000 times.

Could be a typo, but yours looks like a better deal (10x longer on hours and 10x more triggers with the same battery type).

Yup. Sounds like you are sure. :D

100 to 1 it's a typo!

Why not do the obvious - ask the seller. ;-)

Well, I asked him to double check the rating (without indicating which direction I thought it should be) and he confirmed that the spec came from the supplier without any indication it was wrong.

Killjoy,

This just came today and works fine, though you cannot fire it from the receiver and the cord is really short. I'm not sure it will even reach the tripod to mount it there. It has 16 channels and appears to be working fine.
