Default Lens support for the canon 24-70

Is it possible to buy a tripod collar for the canon 24-70 ?

If there's a place to put it on the lens, it seems like a universal-fit (remember "fits all" really means "fits none") collar might go on it...

thanks for the response. The lens is heavy compared to todays lighter and lighter digitals.
There is no place on the lens that I know of to install one. Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....

I just got a 24-70. Images look great. Lens is heavy...but the weight seems to steady my shots. Don't see anywhere a collar could go. Don't think it would serve much of a purpose. My 70-200 has a nice strong collar...but it understandibly needs one.

Considering the weight of the lens compared to the camera. I like the weight when shooting. The time the camera is not in use and the lens is totally supported by the camera mount that concerns me.

I can't think of any reason to be concerned, unless you are trying to use the lens as a hammer head and a Drebel as the hammer's handle.

Thanks for the input.
I have a 70-200 f/2.8 IS when not using a tripod or monopod the colloar foot is easily held by hand.
.

Leehman
