Did you get your 40D yet, Max.

What do you, and others, think about what he said "I find that the IQ of the 40D is on a par if not even slightly better than that of the Canon 5D".

Looks like a fine camera. Always nice to see a good product.

Also if the card door is opened while the camera is still recording data to the card, a warning appears, but the writing continues, unlike in the past when all buffered frames would be lost.
This is good to hear. Phil's been harping on this for a while over at DPReview.

Not yet, if parcel service works as advertised, it will arrive at my dealer's coming Friday

The shot +100% crop Luminous Landscape showed (@ISO800) is extremely clean, but as long as the IQ is as good as my 20D I am OK, anything better is a bonus, but I did expect a slight IQ increase @ higher ISO's (1600 - 3200-H) due to 'general advantages in electronics', as my 20D is 3 years old now

...*my* 0.02...

Kindest regards,

Good review, looks like the upgrade that quite a few people were waiting for. If I hadn't bought my 30D last December I'd have gotten this one, but I needed a new body then, don't need one now. Doesn't mean I don't want it, dammit!

But with a still relatively new body in my bag I'll probably put that money into some other equipment I don't already have and wait another 2-3 years to see what's on offer then.

He does not post anything to verify his statement. Would be interesting to see a comparison like in this post on DPR:

40D Hands on Report: Canon EOS 40D/30D/20D/10D Forum: Digital Photography Review.
