Default Speedlite 380EX?

I have a Rebel XT and was given an older Canon Speedlite 380EX flash to try. Will this flash match up with the XT?

Hi showtm490,

Yes, the 380ex will match up with your XT/350D , all EX- flashes will.

FYI: it is the predecessor of the 420ex, which is the predecessor of the 430ex.

Its power and abilities are a little less than the 420ex (no 'slave' function, more limited tilt & swivel of the flashhead IIRC), but is still is a decent flash, far better as the build-in one

...hope this helps, *my* 0.02 worth...

Kindest regards!

I have one I use with my 30D, or did until I got a 580.
Worked fine, very basic, but works fine.

Hey NitroZip,
you said, " have one I use with my 30D, or did until I got a 580."

do you still have it? are you willing to sell it?
