Post Canon EOS 6D Mark II and More...

Canon announced two DSLRs today, but perhaps nothing in the lineup was more highly anticipated than the EOS 6D Mark II.

After looking through the spec sheet, photographers will definitely be pleased with Canonís upgrades improving the camera in practically every way. Sitting just below the 5D Mark IV, the latest full-frame DSLR from Canon sports a brand new 26.2MP CMOS sensor and the DIGIC 7 Image Processor, which will help create sharp, low-noise imagery, even when working at native sensitivities up to ISO 40000 or extended up to ISO 102400. That isnít the only major advancement in this camera, because it now comes equipped with a capable 45-point All Cross-type AF System that is leaps and bounds above the 11-point system of the original.

Pricing (subject to change)
EOS 6D Mark II (Body Only): $1,999.00
EOS 6D Mark II w/ 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 STM Lens: $2,599.00
EOS 6D Mark II w/ 24-105mm f/4 USM Lens: $3,099.00

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

While the 6D Mark II might be stealing the show, the EOS Rebel SL2 is likely to find its way into many shootersí bags, thanks to its exceptionally light weight and compact size when compared to other DSLRs. We can quickly see that the SL2 has been brought up to speed with Canonís current crop of APS-C cameras, most importantly with the updated 24.2MP CMOS sensor and DIGIC 7 Image Processor. This results in sharper, cleaner imagery at native sensitivities up to ISO 25600. Though the small size makes it seem impossible, this is still a DSLR, so it incorporates an optical viewfinder along with a 9-point AF system. The SL2 even features Canonís Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology, for those working with live view or in video, which has received a bump up to Full HD at 60p.

Pricing
EOS Rebel SL2 (Body Only): $549.00
EOS Rebel SL2 w/ 18-55mm STM Lens: $699.00

Everyone's already complaining about no 4k video on the 6D2. Makes no difference to me, but seems that will be the talking point for awhile.

I'm with you. I don't get the need for 4K video, or the need of video to be more important than still images.... but I'm old and getting older and don't agree with the hip young crowd and all the loud folks making YouTube videos where they talk about a camera for 45 images and show no images they took from it at all... or the images could be from an original iPhone and we really wouldn't know.

But I digress.

Canon and Nikon do need to come out with some new models that offer some new items for people, maybe video is it, but hard to blog (video blog) while holding a big DSLR with a heavy lens, backwards in your hand, if there is no flippy screen.

A normal upgrade for Canon, but still way behind Nikon and Sony.
And the dynamic Range is far behind
