Neat capture. Though I have no idea what it is ... The wing from a moth?

In my opinion it would be easier to understand a "super close-up" if you posted a picture of the entire thing first, then zoomed in.

But then again I'm not into macro or bugs so of course I would be utterly confused

Well I would have posted a photo of the whole moth but the wings were all that was left of it, bird strike or bat, one or the other. I found what was left, the wings, lying on the front lawn. These were shot through a microscope, so macro just doesn't seem to fit the format. Though there are people shooting through microscope objectives using focusing rails and the like.

Thanks Bob and Bill These were taken with a Zeiss Axiostar Plus, using Clinical Plan Achromats and a Canon A570IS bracketed to the photo tube, using a duel pipe fiber optic illuminator (cold halogen).
