Well, not really sure there are any, but one thing I'd look at is one that can get low, as in really low... and one that can have the center column go horizontal (or add extra piece of equipment to do so).

And you didn't state the money range, so that is a big deal too....

As a non professional photographer I have been quite happy with the Vanguard tripod and use it in my macro photography all the time. It has the center column that can go horizontal. It cost about $100.
