Backpack pro camera help

I am looking for a backpack camera that can hold all my events gear
I prefer it to be rainproof ..my gear list is:

2x Canon bodies (5d mark3 and 7d)
2x lenses (24-105 and 24-70 f2.8)
2x flashes
+ memory cards-extra batteries

any value for money suggestions?

Using a backpack is a very subjective venture. What works well for one, doesn't work well for someone else. I'm sure as this thread progresses, you'll get a lot of varied opinions.

Because a backpack ultimately has to be comfortable, and work well for you, I strongly suggest you gather all the opinions you can, then try to find stores where you can look at and try as many as you can.

Is that it? Just that gear? I'd assume that each of the lenses will be mounted to one of the bodies? Or you want them not mounted when in the backpack? Canon made a backpack that was all black except for a dark olive green front that would probably hold all that you have there. I have one here that I don't need.

So I bought a back pack, used it twice and found it to be a big pain in the a$$. Ended up getting one that is like a fanny pack that can be slid to the back out of the way and to the front when needed to get something out of it

I will have one lens attach to my camera body
the 24-70 f2.8L is always mounted on my 5dmark 3
my two flashes are 580exII and 600rt
I am doing events for magazines so I need something that I can carry easy and if possible to be waterproof
I got a canon eg1 pro bag (shoulder bag) but its too small for my stuff ,also a backpack is easier to carry around

Have you looked at Maxpedition bags? Well made and durable bags.:afro:

I bought a bag with a strap over one shoulder & it hung to my side. Very handy but a back killer if worn for very long.

I have a big backpack bag that holds a lot of stuff, easy on the back because it hangs off my back not the shoulder. The down side there is you have to take it off to access the bag.

Lastly I bought a LowPro sling bag. It holds a lot (I think they offer 3 sizes), and is comfortable. Just slide it around to the front to access & slide it to to your back to carry. Has a built in compartment that holds a rain cover when needed.

I don't wear a bag often, usually I have the long lens on the D610 & a wide angle on the D5100 & just carry one on each shoulder with Black Rapid Straps. I can go all day long with that set up & be comfortable. That doesn't address your flash units though.

Bags and comfort is a personal thing. Go to a shop with your gear and test some bags. Witch bag do you prefer ? ;-)
