I used to use a traditional neck strap, until I discovered hand straps (of course I would have to carry my back pack in case I didn't want it on my hand). now I use the Camera Capture Clip System and it works very well. I mount the plate on my belt and the camera doesn't move (even when I run or climb up boulders/trees), and its easy to stow/retrieve the camera from it. I make my own. Guitar straps work nicely as they are designed to be worn. Bass guitar straps are really wide and remove strain on shoulders due to heavy bags and equipment.

I use this one its brilliant I use a 7D with a battery grip and normally 70 -200 2.8 L. It supports that no problem and also has a steel wire running through the strap so it cant be cut.

I seen the Sun Sniper Neil, they look good, its hard to go back to a regular strap after using a sling.

My Black Rapid RS-Sport with Bryce1 personally signed by Mr. Kurt Peterson, President of Black Rapid. Best strap I ever had and still the best strap on planet Earth

I am really late to this party but another vote for the Black Rapid. I have a D200 with a RRS L bracket. I got a heavy duty but small diameter split ring that attached to the L bracket. Snap the BR onto that and I have the best of both worlds - a great strap and can use the L bracket in both positions - usually with an 18-200.
