I use a Amvona Dynatran 858.....after MANY reviews and researches, I decided to go with Dynatran. It is solid as a ROCK and won't cost ya your right arm like a Gitzo, Bogen, or Manfrotto will, in fact the head on mine is a direct knock off of a Bogen head. I paid 50- for mine on ebay which included the bag, different sets of "shoes", etc... Here is a link to Amvona's homepage Amvona 720 imagine, discover, connect. though you can get their tripods much cheaper on their ebay store eBay Store - amvona com: tripods monopods: PRO CARBON FIBER MAGNESIUM ALLOY CAMERA TRIPOD LEGS 85B

I use a Manfrotto 190XPROB with a MN460MG head. it's a compromise between rigidity and weight. I also use a Manfrotto 718SHB. It's a lot smaller and lighter than the 190 so I can carry it with me most times.
