Default what's this?camera mirror???

Ok, so I have bought this at a pawn shop but I have no idea what it is. well, it's a mirror but I just can't find how to use it and what its worth. It feels solid and it came in a box. I bought it because of the ''made in germany''. Feels like quality. Who can help me out? (see pictures)

Sorry, David. I have no idea what it is.

How much did you pay for it?

Looks like a viewfinder attachment for an older film SLR. Some older SLRs had a waist level viewscreen (similar to what you would find on a Kodak Duaflex). A metal door with thin metal shutters on the sides would open to expose the ground glass viewscreen.

A little search shows that a German made Pentacon Praktica SLR may have employed a separate attachment, like yours, to modify the viewscreen into a viewfinder.

Hope this helps.

Thanks! This helps a lot. I think it's a prism viewfinder and I found a lot of look-a-likes. I'll keep you updated
