I have a Manfrotto 454. Its good for shooting panoramas since you can control where the nodal point will be to keep the horizontal movement more precise. As for shooting Macro its pretty bad. There is lots of sideways wobble making alignment nearly impossible. Its amazing so much thought and effort went into making it and it is so poorly designed. Much like other Manfrotto products.

Lauren that looks like it should take care of any macro needs you may encounter. I have an old Novoflex unidirectional that is all I need.
