Default Tripod for Photo and Video? hybrid solution? Which one?

Hi!

I am looking for a solution for a tripod and head system which I can use for photography AND videography for HDSLRs...

What should I buy? Do you recommend a hybrid solution? If yes, which one?

Manfrotto makes the Mh005 Q5 head. Can you recommend it?

Thanks!

I don't know about the Manfrotto, but I can see no reason why a good sturdy pan and tilt head on an equivalent tripod wouldn't serve for both purposes.

One tripod with two heads...

1. a ball head for still photography
Kirk Enterprises BH 1 Tripod Monopod Ball Head Great Condition | eBay

2. a fluid dampened pan head for video work
fluid head in Tripod Heads | eBay

Best of both worlds...

I use a Giottos ball head but don't really like the A/C clamp on it.

I use a Manfrotto 701 Fluid dampened pan head. Not the greatest in the world but quite decent for the price. I paid $50 USD for it, used, on eBay.
