Contact the manufacturer. They will give you instructions on How to recover the files they may have recovery software. If that does not work they should replace it with a new card. At least that was my experience with Lexar. Some of the low end manufacturers don't stand behind there product. I don't know about PNY. Anyway check their web page look a lifetime warranty and see what they will do for you. Report back because it's strings like this that educate other photographers of what products are a good value and those that are not. BTW if the card got wet or even in humid conditions you may want to surround the card with dry rice for a few days before anything else. Good luck.

Thanks Fred, I will take your advice and report back soon as I can.
I have another PNY 8 GB that has been working just fine.

I tried using a program called ZAR on the PNY card and it said it was empty. So I had probably took all pictures off it. All I know is when I put it in a camera it says "card error" on the display. It's been a long time since I fooled with it. I have 15 or 20 cards anyway so it is best I just throw that one away. Cards are so cheap now a days. I will just stick with the ones that have worked for me.
I am always transferring pictures off the cards and taking them in and out the cameras. I have still and video camera's I am always swapping the cards. I don't like to use the word abuse but I do feel like I abuse the cards and they just keep on working.

I have always used SanDisk cards and have never had one fail. As above, beware of unbelievable deals. If the package isn't factory sealed -- send it back quick! My 2c
