I bought a [URL="
several months ago. It holds my 7D with 70-300 L lens attached, My 10-18 Wide angle and my 100MM Macro. It does have a laptop space but I can put my flash unit and rain protector in there. The pockets are small but will hold verious filters and cleaning supplies.

I really can't see how one bag would cover all circumstances and needs.

I've used a Lowpro Mini Trekker AW for nearly four years. It's big, well organized, fairly comfortable with the waist belt, built like a tank. When fully loaded, it's way too heavy to carry any distance.
I generally use it loaded to carry short distances and it generally holds everything I need. I've used it several times for all day treks in NYC and Philadelphia by carrying only the bare necessities of camera equipment and using the spare room to carry a few personal items- sunscreen, Ipod, hat etc.
I often use a Tamrac "Gadget Bag" (can't find a model number anywhere on the bag) from the 1980's that once carried my Canon F1 system. This bag has excellent construction and carries my Nikon D300s with MB-D10 Grip and Nikkor 18-200 lens attached. It can also carry a flash, two additional lenses (small to medium) and various other accessories. Again it gets a little heavy if I carry it over an hour or so.
Finally, I recently purchased a Tamrac Rally 6 Messenger type bag. This bag is inconspicuous, can carry my Nikon D300s with Nikkor 18-200, Nikkor 50mm 1.4D, flash, MB-D10 Grip (unattached)and a few small accessories. It seems I can handle carrying this bag for quite some time with the shoulder strap.

I've had quite a few bags myself... Used the slingshot 200 for quite a while but have needed to increase the capacity of my bag and add the ability to carry a laptop for when I travel.

Have used the Lowepro CompuTrekker for a few shoots now and must say I love it. It carries really well and has loads of space to stick all sorts in there. Have to take it off to change gear but then I was expecting that.

Love it.

I own the Lowepro Slingshot 202 and I love it. But I also just bought the amazonbasics SLR backpack for a super (used) low price. It's a nice back-up bag.

I have probably half a dozen bags I use depending on the circumstances:

Gura Gear kiboko 30L
Think Tank Urban Disguise
Street & Field LowePro 100
Pacsafe backpack
Mini Trekker Classic
Timbuk2 shoulder bag
Canvas cloth tote
Mountain Smith Dayback (fanny pack)

They are like purses and shoes -- can never have too many options.
