Yes I would recommend booking reservations IF you choose to stay in the park.

Thanks.

Based on that map all I have to do is get I15 and drive straight to Yosmite?

I don't know if it would be neccesary, but it wouldn't hurt.
There are people who go to Yosemite all year long.
While I would imagine that the campgrounds are busier in the summer, I wouldn't guarantee that you get a spot just driving in any time of the year.

A photograph is like a joke. If you have to explain it, it just isn't that good.

That route actually takes you from I-15 to I-99 to SR-140 which takes you into the park.
Edit: If you scroll down the page for the link that Wayne posted, it shows the roads and turns.
When I looked last night at a snow free route from Vegas, that's the one I came up with also.

The other obvious route from Los Vegas to Yosemite would be to go over the the Tioga pass which normally opens in May or June, and therefore is not a viable option in April.

It is two - 10 or 11 hr days from here to there. I would want to stay for four or five days to make it worth the drive.

It is on the calendar, but it will depend on scheduling at work.

Sounds great Rocky.

I just got off the phone. I booked the room for my family.

We will arrive on Wednesday the 7th and depart on Saturday the 10th.
That gives us two full days in the park, as well as three sunsets and three sunrises.

We booked a condo in the park (see my earlier post about snow camping with my wife ).
It's not the Taj Mahal, but it's warm and dry, with a shower and a kitchen.

And if you have to enter the park via Highway 120 (like I do) you will drive past Bridalveil Falls, and Tunnel View to get there.

So, I'm set. Who's going to join us?

I just went to the National Park Campsite reservation to see how much and thought I would just reserve something, just in case.

There where no sites available in the park for that week already.

Rocky, You've got PM.

I sent you a couple of links with campsites that look like they are available that week.
