Default Help with ID.

Went for a walk yesterday to a Nature Preserve that I have not been to before.

Didnt really see much but there were many Killdeer. This Juvi was one of the nearest. The Caspian Tern was on the other side of the retention pond. While looking at the pics I see a smaller bird and not sure what it is. After spending a few min in a couple of the books, the closest might be ringed plover.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

missed seeing the bird in back in the third pic. any clearer shots? Ringed is pretty much old world, it is replaced here on this side by the Semi-palmated plover. quite common.

If you're talking about the bird in the background of the tern I'm thinking it's a young Killdeer but hard to tell.

I do appreciate your help. Sorry these shots are at a distance and only had 100-400 with me. Perhaps it is the Semi-palmated.

Thanks again!

To me the size is too small for Kildeer. Going by it's size, leg colour and general shape I'd go for semi-palmated plover.
