Default Some not very good shots

Nikon/Sigma shots.

I probably would have discarded these if it hadn't been for the subjects. One doesn't often catch a juvi Bald Eagle in flight and the Red-headed WP is rated "uncommon."

The Eagle was near the sun so just a step up from a silhouette shot and the WP was a loooong way off so major crops of all 3 shots.

Nice series, Lee! The 3 Red-headed Woodpeckers are very cool. As for the Eagle shots, they are fine too because you are able to recover details from a shadow and still keeping the noise level in check. Your software skills are sensational.

Very good Lee considering the light and the crop. There seems to be a halo around the birds though and a blue and red patch on the breast of the bird in the last shot.

Now Kevin, please re-read the title. I did the best I could with them, which may not be much. Here is one of the originals just converted to jpg:

I have to agree you did a fine job of recovery. (baldies shots) Not sure why you rate the Red headed as "uncommon" probably most common WP in northern part of the state.
