Default New 600

As a retirement gift to self, a new 600 is on my list when they can be found. I wonder if any of you has tried the 600 II with the new Kinko 2x pro and if you are having good results with it, expscially on the 2FX? I have read this combo. allows great auto. focus on the 1DX.
Anyone know where a new 600II can be found yet.
Thanks and best wishes.

golfer:
There has been many threads in the past two months on the 600 II and here is a link to a recent thread on comparing it to the 800mm by using a 1.4x III. If I remember correctly there were several US sales through Canadian dealers because of the exchange rate and recent speculation about better availability after the Olympics.

Bob; didn't get your link, thank you for the reply. I have read links on the 800 but missed the 600.
Bobo; will do my best, be nice if I could approach the ability of some of your work.
Best wishes.

Oops! first cup of coffee and maybe another senior moment. From what I can preen from several threads is a 600 II + 1.4xIII vs 800mm is very close optically and the 600 can be hand held much easier. Both make the pocket book a lot lighter. Almost all of my photos are from my front porch and the biggest contributor is a target rich environment.

Not sure if you need more reviews to wet your appetite but here's a couple that may make you even more excited

The fist site links to several reviews
The second site I like so much because it gives you size comparison etc

Look forward to see your results once you have your new gear

Would LOVE to have this lens! It would go great with my new beanbag but I think moving it around would be a pain.
