.
Hi to all, In an afternoons visit to my local beach I was entertained and fascinated as I watched two Greenshank go through some kind of ritual. They stopped and started several times, it went on for about 20 minutes, The routine started by the two birds jumping in front of each other, then one would run and chase the other. Next they would take to flight flying very high and fast and then diving back to the ground. It was difficult keeping them in my viewfinder.
So my birds today were Greenshank, Grey Plover and a Redshank

Thanks Gautam and Pete, I wasnt too sure if it was courtship, here what a local expert thought

QuoteInteresting sequence. I would suspect that it is either two rivals disputing a piece of wintering territory, or two birds initiating courtship. I would guess it was probably the first, as I do not know if shorebirds would start pairing up this early in the winter or this far away from the breeding grounds
