Default Stormy Southport Gulls

From a visit to Ainsdale beach yesterday.

It was dull and once more a highish ISO600 was necessary. They are a bit soft but I'll call it 'painterly'. If it's better tomorrow I intend to try again with a bit of sun. (Ever the English optimist)
It was very blowy and cold. Brrrr.

A juvenile Herring gull and a Black headed gull with his winter spot.

They look great to me Pat but I did wonder what they would look like in B&W.

Thanks, once again, for the nice comments.

I've converted one in Bridge - playing around with the colour sliders etc. I tend to forget about B/W. It's an ideal for this sort of thing - a bit grainy and fairly monchrome anyway. OH is really not a fan of B/W but I think it can work well with certain images.

Thanks for the ideas! Yer stars

Excellent B&W convertion Pat. Like your OH, I'm not a fan of black and white in bird photography but sometimes it works, and this works. Afraid it has to be virtual K (Damn karma police)

Agree with the others that B&W works in these shots, nice!
