Default Early morning kingfisher.

I got there just before sunrise, not the best time to see 'em.

2 hours later, while still misty and mostly in shadow.

It flew to a ray of harsh light.

After nothing for three hours, I moved on.

Another hour and this one turned up for a few minutes.

Same bird just fluffed 'n unfluffed.

Slim

Who's been eating all the pies then?

The first shot is so peaceful!
I love the shot of the bird standing tall!

Great series. I know this is a bird forum but I really like the first shot. Excellent image.

I also liked the second kingfisher shot. Maybe adding a tad more room to the right.
Very well done.

Tony wonderful series and fantastic photos. Thanks for sharing the habitat shot, IMHO it adds interest to the series and it's something we should all try to do when possible

Thanks Gil, and cheers for the K

I might stay in bed an extra hour the next time I visit

I do have a photograph from last year in November from the same place, so hopefully they will still be about for a while, if my luck runs true.
