Welcome to the forum, the EXIF data is intact and would have alot of the info you seek except the lens. I use http://www.opanda.com/
program to view the EXIF data. I use the freeware they offer.

Yes the EXIF date should be intact ...Theses were shot with my D700 and my Nikon 300mm f/4 AFS or my Nikon 300mm 2.8 AFS.
