Default Lonesome Dove

Not sure if this dove was lonesome, hot, or playing dead. I shot this the other day when the local temperature index was about 102. This dove landed on the lawn, then spread a wing and the tail and laid still for nearly 15 minutes. There were four or five doves that were active under my feeder the whole time. Since the local doves seem to be warming up to laying a second clutch, this may be part of the mating behaviour. Anybody know?
