I prefer the first picture as I prefer more natural anyway. But excellent retouching skills. I wouldn't know where to start.

The retouched one is nice because it is not overdone. The retouched one however looks softer. I recommend a book called: Skin, the complete guide to digitally lighting, photographing faces and bodies for a great tutorial on skin retouching that is not too onerous.

I too like the first. I personally don't like to take all the smile lines and wrinkles out. The second shot looks a little flat. Like the contrast level in #1

He has pretty heavy lines around his eyes. I'd lesson those but still be able to see them. As it is to me it looks like he has stripes and not lines round his eye area.

I notice she has light lines around her eyes so I'd soften her skin some but be sure there is still a hint of those lines.
