Default Barred owl edit

I shot this through my bedroom window - typical outside dirt on the window, and the camera was shooting at about 45 degrees through the glass. Blinds probably also reflected in the glass washing things out further.

Before is SOOC. After is what I got from it. Shot raw, processed with Corel Aftershot Pro (the program formerly known as Bibble) with Noise Ninja Pro. Some additional tweakage in CS5.

Another after Foothill Fotog encouraged me to look at some vignetting options to take the edge off the yellow leaves. Thoughs?

I duplicated the image layer and put an exposure adjustment on it -.5 stops. I changed the blend mode to Multiply and then masked the area I didn't want darkened with a HUGE soft brush. Then did that again to darken the outer edges a bit more. 50% opacity on these vignette layer groups.

Wow, I thought the first enhancement was great. The second just added a whole new dimension to it. Definitely toned down the over-abundance of yellow. Very nice!

Nice vignette--makes the bird pop out more. I love how the bird thoughtfully kept to your recommended color palette, and wore his yellow beak to the session. I wish all clients followed wardrobe suggestions as well as this little guy!
