This is a very nice portrait of a vibrant 100 year old. Yes, her skin is a bit more blurred than some would like but the alternative on your high res original would have been a number of hours of dodge & burn. This looks like a good compromise.

I like your statement "Every wrinkle is earned through the years, so this is not my style of retouching." The image was perfect for challenging your skills and you did a beautiful job!

Digging this thread up from the depths. My grandmother passed away at the end of April, and we want to have a large portrait at her memorial service. This is the best that we have on hand, so I gave it another edit using some of what I've learned in the past few years. The original edit in this post was a challenge to see how far I could take it.

This edit was just to soften things up a bit, but I wanted to keep it looking real. Am having this one printed 16x20.
