Seems to me to be perfect....not too much yet enough to improve on the original skin...

I guess it is a close call as to when to stop etc and you really seem to have this spot on....really nice

Best wishes

Thanks. Yep, knowing when enough is enough is a challenge at times.

Thanks Ken. I would hope the second is better since it's the one I retouched. =)

Wonderful job, but I wonder why you stopped at the face ?

There is two birthmarks on her shoulder that get really distracting now that the face is flawless

...€0.02...

Kindest regards,

Thanks for the praise and the great question of when to remove or not to remove.

In my defense I did retouch her neck and shoulders too.

To answer your question. I suppose my reasoning was that I would like her to retain some real elements as this is more of a character retouch vs beauty retouch.

An example I use a lot is... Say if a man had a scare on his face I wouldn't remove it, I would most likely exaggerate it to make it more prominent. Why? It's part of his character, who he is, a defining trait. Blemishes, zits, etc can be removed/reduced as it's not considered a defining trait. Over time zits will come and go but scars will stay.

Like these two moles which I consider a defining trait because they are so prominent as it is.

But yes, I also agree the moles are distracting.
