No Roger, it's there. It's just a different camera.

You're just jealous that the Camel looks better behind the wheel of your car than you do.

A photograph is like a joke. If you have to explain it, it just isn't that good.

Hey Alan,

Have you thought about cutting that white tag that seems to stick out in these last few shots?

Hey Tom.

Actually, that's a keychain clip.
That's the backup camera. And yes, I will cut that little keychain fob off of it.

I had a little mishap in San Francisco on Monday.
When I was setting PC on a railing for a shot with a sailboat harbor in the background, the lens popped off the Canon camera.
It went right into the water in the harbor.
There was nothing I could do about it.

Since that lens held on with a magnet, I'm going to swing by Harbor Freight today, and pick up one of these and some rope to see if I can dredge it back up.

I guess I could always SCUBA dive to get it, but I don't exactly want to dive in San Francisco Bay.
Besides, the Harbormaster might not care for me diving there.

Is it heavy enough or the water still enough that it'll still be there?

I'll find out. Hopefully the easy way.

The lens is kind of heavy enough. But not so much that it would have stuck in the mud.
The water, should be still enough.
The red X is where it fell.

The larger image shows the harbor, and it's in the upper left corner where it happened. So it shouldn't be subject to changing tides or even waves being that far into the harbor.
Although, the magnet I bought for dredging is not all that large, I may be fishing for a while.

Thanks Athena, but alas it's gone.

The water was about 30 feet deep there, and I think all I did with the dredging magnet is stir up the mucky bottom.

Oh well. At least I have a backup camera, and so does The Photo Camel.

I'm sorry you didn't manage to dredge it up.

Thank you Athena.

Maybe one day I'll get permission from the Harbormaster to go for a little recovery SCUBA dive.
I'm sure I'm not the only person to have dropped something over the edge.
Heck, I'd wager that I could even make a little money doing it.

This is in no way a religious statement, but simply seasonal.

Today the Photo Camel went and saw Santa.

This Santa came riding up on a Harley.
