Appears to be a GM 71 series 2 cylinder diesel (GM-271) which dates back to WWII. We used these on several ships I was on as a emergency generator.
I can say it was a running fool that never seemed to break down.
I guess I am just a junkie

Nice piece of history. I used to work on these back in the day. Shame it's on wood, nothing sounds like a detroit when it's right.
