Here is a link for the complete nail and hammer series. They are in the order I envisioned them in. Jim Burns Photography | Hammer and Nails

There are 8 photos in the series. These are the digital proofs. I shot them for a gallery exhibit on medium format Ilford Pan 50 film too.

Some ore repeats of what I posted as individuals.

Sorry for the link and not a direct post It does not look like I can post all 8 at once.

Pretty cool if you ask me in fact I may try my luck at your creativity thinking and shoot something similar for a photo challenge I participate in at another site. Fear not, no worries about me trying to show you up since my work is not even close to yours. Two thumbs up! Paul

Love the sequence - these are just great and incredibly creative. I can hardly wait to see what you come up with next.

OK, I received some feed back that he series did not really end. That there needed to be some conclusion to the hammer.

Do you agree with this? I am not sure I do but I still had the set built so I shot one more scene

Should this be the last shot or is it ok as is?

If it was my series, I'd think about a sacrifice to the nail's God. Maybe an approach to an alter with a jigsaw on it. Or the hammer on fire with the nails dancing around it.

Well a couple of things. I am keeping this minimalistic because I am also shooting on film to hand make prints for a show.

In the mean time a fellow photog said I shout put this in a portfolio contest.

In my mind th perfect ending would be melting th hammer down to make new nails. But hard to do in film. With digital with a lot of post it would work.

I think I will leave to as it. It's a story about over coming oppression. It does not need a happy ending. Not getting hit in the head is good enough.

I don't know how a "conclusion" would look. I think this is one of those things that could go on forever, well, almost forever. What's next - knives, forks and spoons?

Eggs and a beater

Then a trilogy, (read this in your movie guy "in a a world voice")screws vs a flathead, screws vs a philips and when it looks like the screws will be victorious, screw vs an impact driver. No screw will be left standing.........

Weeds vs weed whacker

pizza vs me

Great series, it reminds me of a type of :Gulliver's Hammer" series
For me a possible ending would be the head of the hammer fallen off and maybe the handle used as a swing
