Don't know what you did, but now,
I wanna dump a bunch of pasta on a
scanner, and maybe back it up with
some foil or a mirror ....

However, ain't got no scanner. With
any luck, someone else will have a
run at that.

Funny

To emulate a scanner, you can simply photograph a glass plate from below. Or just get one, many throw old ones out nowadays.

I'm very handy with all the lighting variations one can deploy on
the baseboard of a copy stand, which certainly includes your
excellent suggestion. Possibly the image in the OP was actually
made that way. I made a good living primarily from copy stand
operations for a few years.

OTOH I'll take issue that such tricks can emulate a scanner. The
lighting effect of that very narrow brilliant traveling light bar in
a scanner is truly unique.
