A New & improved 52 for 2018.

There was a break in our seemingly endless rain here in Vancouver the other day so we did a walkabout at the nearby Fraser River.

1.
Spotted this Great Blue Heron resting on a log boom.

Re: A New & improved 52 for 2018.

Welcome to your new "52 week" set of photos for 2018, Wolf.
Ph1 is an excellent photo of that blue heron in an unusual position and with beautiful colors and texture.
Ph2,3,& 4 form a very nice set of the heron capturing some fresh quality seafood, and it looks happy.
Hahaha, that's a very nice team in ph5 searching for Donald. I am sure they found him before they packed it in.
Cheers, Murray

Thank you so much for your kindly comments and welcome my the and iproved 52 week project Murray.
I was lucky to have that heron pose for me in front of that nicely colored log boom
It was interesting to watch that bird catch that fish. One second he was sitting floating on the water, then he dived and about 10 seconds appeared about 50 feet further away with that little fish flapping around in his beak. Fun to watch.
There appeared to be quite a few more ducks & geese around the waterfront than usual this time - I hope it is a sign of spring. :afro:

A very nice set of nature images for week 2. Wolf.
Ph1 is a lovely image of Mt. Cheam with green grass in the foreground and white snow on the mountain.
The gull in ph2 is powerful looking but would not likely put up much of a fight against the two eagles in ph3. Wow, they look strong and aggressive.
But the duck in ph4 looks beautiful and peaceful. Probably leads all the birds in this set.
Cheers, Murray

A bit of all the elements for week 3, Wolf.
This is a great image of the mountain with water, earth, the peak, and the sky all in one image. It looks like a nice place to be in.
Cheers, Murray

A spectacular set of spring flowers for week 4, Wolf.
Both images are gorgeous. I think image 1 has a slight edge of the set. The color and detail of the purple flowers are excellent.
Cheers, Murray

Thanks for your kindly comments Murray.
Always enjoy photographing Mt. Cheam as it seems to have a different look about it every time I do it.
I hope to get back to that location where I spotted those eagles soon as it looked like they were building a nest in that tree.
Should be some good photo opportunities there.
I took at least 6 shots of that duck and only this shot had him turned in just the right direction to show all those colors.

Cheers
Wolf
