Week 30 - Canada Thistle.

This noxious weed can be found in most of North America, however it is not a native species, having been introduced from Eurasia in the 1700s.

Image captured with my 5DIV and a 24-105mm L IS II lens. Processing was done in Lightroom Classic CC.

As usual, relevant comments and questions are welcome.

Week 31 - Goat's-Beard - Seed Head.

These are larger yellow flowers found in most parts of North America, but native to Eurasia. Because it is widespread, it also has a wide variety of different species, local names and a few colour variants. This image is of the seed head, which at a long distance can resemble that of a large dandelion.

Image shot with a Canon 5DIV and a 24-105mm L IS II lens.

As usual, relevant comments and questions are welcome.

Nice shot WG.
I saw many of these on our recent trip to the Okanagan Valley.

Thanks Wolf glad you liked them both - the thistles are almost everywhere in ditches, along railway tracks, around ponds and other small bodies of water and it is that time of year for them to flower and spread.

As far as the Goat's-Beard is concerned, they can often be found in similar places where the thistles aren't. I like the large seed head that they have and its delicate features to photograph.

Week 32 - sometimes the "Haze" slider doesn't work.

Documentary image - there should be Foothills and Mountains in the background, however they are lost in the haze of smoke from forest fires to the west. Processing in Lightroom Classic CC. There was no setting of the "Haze" slider that rendered a decent image, even using the gradient tool made little difference.

Shot with my 5DIV and a 24-105II L IS lens.
